Finished Mosaics for the Smart Materials Project
As promised, here are some photos from the Smart Materials project that I helped Nerissa Cargill-Thompson with Bolton at Home. This project incorporates the application of smart materials with arts in the community. So I helped the local community at Lever Gardens making mosaics with smart beads for their garden installation. These beads change color when exposed to UV light (you can see them in the photo below, they look like O's). The nature scene is on display for the local residents at Lever Gardens to enjoy from their window. ;) Beautiful and cheerful!
The project sees local artists joining forces with the University’s smart material researchers to work with local community groups to explore, create and design different applications for smart materials - See more at: http://www.bolton.ac.uk/MediaCentre/Articles/2013/Feb2013-3.aspx#sthash.JEpPZWbT.dpuf
